This is the best book I've ever read about catching lobsters - okay, it's the only book I've ever read about catching lobsters, but I still like it. I spend a lot of time in Panama, and I'm looking forward to trying these techniques down there. The author has a nice, folksy writing style that makes for entertaining reading.On a side note, in the introduction he states that his secret for success is the "30/30" rule; 30 years same job, 30 years same wife. Personally I can't imagine a more boring, miserable life than having the same job and the same wife for 30 years. I'd rather swallow a bucket of sand, but that's just me. As long as he's happy..............

This book is a great pool side read! Invaluable information is provided by Jim (chiefly). I am more than ready now for mini season, thanks to Chiefly I now have all the tools I need to master the art of lobster catching! This book is engaging and the pictures are a wonderful addition.
If you have ever thought about catching these succulent treats yourself, this is the book for you. Jim (Chiefy) covers equipment selection, scouting, diving, hunting, and, of course, capturing the "bug". He puts all of this in an easy, entertaining read. The humorous anecdotes alone are worth the price.

As a South Florida diver for more than 40 years, the subject of catching lobster could not have been covered any better. This is an easy-read, step by step guide, in three basic sections--Find the Lobster; Catch the Lobster; and Eat the Lobster. In addition, there are many colorful stories by the author and his dive buddies, sharing his diving and hunting experiences which make it a personal and fun read as well. The book is well-illustrated with lots of color photos and charts. This is the kind of book for people (like me) who hate to read books--you'll end-up reading from cover to cover, perhaps in one sitting; and then refer to it over and over again in the future. I highly recommend it.
